CRESI Community Update – COVID – 19
During these uncertain times, we want to keep our community informed as to the impact that COVID-19 has with respect to our clients, colleagues and real estate!
As you know, the Ontario Government ordered most workplaces to close down effective, March 24, 2020 at 11:59 PM. This measure is to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Why was “real estate” deemed essential?”
Out of the 75 “essential” services, which are businesses that are allowed to stay open, “Land Registration services, real estate agent services and moving services” will remain open., professional services including banking, lawyers and accountants will also remain open to prevent the damaging impact on the thousands of transactions in Ontario right now that have yet to close officially.
What does this mean?
The government’s label as “essential” allows real estate to permit pending transactions to close. Realtors are NOT to carry on with normal business during this crisis.
We are able to maintain our commitment to our clients to ensure that all transactions come to completion maintaining the continuity and security that they are used to. Technology allows us to continue on with business but not as usual and in a remote fashion.
If we can ever be of any assistance, please reach out to us.
We will get through this together!
